NBA - CANCELLED!! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO ME??

Recently the NBA players declined a final offer from the team owners to split the incoming revenue 52% - 48%, thus canceling the 2012 season (and alot of our entertainment!!). According to most normal thinking people, those players are as greedy as they get. They're making millions of dollars just for playing basketball, and they forfeited all that just for a few MORE dollars..!!! The gemorah tells us that "he who has 100 dollars wants 200, and he who has 200 dollars wants 400 etc etc". That means that naturally, people always want MORE than what they have & are never satisfied.. and because of this, the MISHNA in PIRKEI AVOS tells us a very important lesson: "who is happy? the one who is happy with what he has". May we all just thank Hashem for what we HAVE, & not be like those greedy NBA players... (granted they're highly talented & entertaining!!!).

  1. great lesson, though the concept of being happy with what you have, is only in worldly matters, whereas when it comes to torah, just as dovid quoted "he who has 100 wants 200, and he has 200 wants 400", one has to grow in torah and mitzvos on a constant basis and not be satisfied where they are holding
